Our client is a well-established New Zealand owned organisation renowned for their expertise, service delivery and reputable ethic.  With over 20 years’ experience they specialise in the distribution and servicing of a comprehensive range of high-end laboratory instrumentation and consumables where they offer sales, service and support to Laboratories on a national basis across Research, Clinical and Industrial applications including food, pharmaceutical, diagnostic and medical etc.

Due to phenomenal growth within our client’s business, a newly created, dynamic and exciting opportunity has emerged for an experienced Service Technician/Service Manager (EAS or EST Certified) who is seeking that next career opportunity. Key to your success will be your ability to integrate your technical knowledge and hands-on servicing experience, progressing through to a sales focus where you will be instrumental in identifying future opportunities for product sales culminating in the development and profitable growth of the Servicing Division. The ideal candidate will need to possess:

  • A Tertiary Qualification in Science, and be EAS/EST qualified with several years servicing Laboratory equipment.
  • Commitment to outstanding customer service and a passion for sales.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to self-manage and be results-orientated along with the ability to thrive in a team-based environment.
  • Strong organisational skills and motivation to build highly credible and long lasting client relationships and drive business development.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Investigate/resolve technical issues, responding promptly to all customers enquiries, either face to face or via telephone or email.
  • Manage technical servicing on an end to end basis – including initiating quotations, writing/managing contracts, record keeping and budgets.
  • Sound technical understanding of a diverse mix of laboratory equipment and consumables with thorough diagnostic/problem solving skills.
  • Managing installations and training customers on-site.
  • Continue to keep abreast of market knowledge and new equipment launches.
  • As a valued member of the Service/Sales Team, you will endeavour to provide qualified leads that translate into revenue growth.

This great opportunity is a blended role involving Technical Servicing of Product and Sales. A high percentage of your client contact will be face-to-face as well as via telephone and email. There is minimal out of town travel and training/support will be provided.
