Our client is a leading independent science organisation with a large group of expert scientists, they provide support to an extensive range of industries including aquatic, environmental and food. Currently they are seeking a Laboratory Technician to join their Micro-algae team in a 2IC position to support analytical testing and co-ordinate activities– with a focus on aquatic and environmental – freshwater algae and phytoplankton.


In this role you will:

  • Co-ordinate day to day running of the lab
  • Ensure customer satisfaction of reporting, TAT, technical and quality issues
  • Participate in technical laboratory tasks
  • Training and supervising of staff
  • Maintenance of lab equipment and instruments

To be considered for this role you will have:

  • A BSc in aquatic sciences, botany or similar
  • Minimum 5 years in a similar commercial laboratory role including familiarity with freshwater algae / phytoplankton taxonomy
  • Strong work ethic and integrity
  • Good record keeping and written work
