Introduction

Our client is a highly trusted industry leader and local manufacturer of products for the Bakery, Food service, Industrial food processing, Dairy and Retail markets. They processes a range of locally sourced and imported raw materials in order to resupply as ingredients or finished products to renowned brands in NZ and abroad. Requirements

On behalf of our client we are seeking an Account Manager to grow a portfolio of existing client relationships within the NZ food industry and abroad. The role will encompass both domestic Account Management and International sales. A key element of your role will be to identify and action new market opportunities outside the existing client base. There is huge scope for the right person to drive significant growth!

To be successful in this role you will need to have:

  • An ability to absorb technical information and keen to learn
  • Preferably 2-5 years’ experience in an Export Sales role in Asian markets
  • Experience in business development within the food industry

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Research, analyse and report market feedback to assist in developing an export sales strategy
  • Develop and maintain a close working relationship with the Technical team, in order to facilitate information flow that will assist with the delivery of new products.
  • Educate all sales channels on product range and services and support the development of the brand through attendance at trade shows/expos; and development of marketing collateral.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key government agencies (i.e. NZTE, Export NZ) to maximise opportunities in targeted export markets.
  • Ensure all export sales agents/customers align with business practices and values to maintain brand reputation.

The ideal candidate will be a go-getting, results driven Sales leader with a solid base of experience wanting to find a role where they can have an immediate impact and strong career progression towards Senior Management. Or alternatively, you may have a strong commercial/technical food science or technology background and you are passionate to secure a client facing role, where you will be able to grow and develop client relationships by utilising your outgoing personality, enviable communication skills and commitment to be a highly successful Salesperson.

Reporting to the Sales Manager, this position will be based in Mount Maunganui, with some international travel (estimated at 2 weeks every 3 months).  Our client identifies this position as an important and pivotal position in their business; accordingly they offer a very competitive base salary, vehicle & other benefits.
