Introduction

Our client is a NZ owned manufacturer with a sustainable and progressive company culture. Due to some ongoing projects and growth they are now looking for a bright, energetic and self-motivated Maintenance Engineer or Fitter Turner to support the smooth running of manufacturing operations.

This is a very ‘hands on’ role where each day you will provide engineering services to the plant.  It is envisaged you would have previous experience in a fast paced manufacturing environment.

Requirements

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Actively support production and site activities by optimising machinery performance and reliability.
  • Use engineering knowledge to analyse equipment failure, facilitate cross functional groups in decision making and improvements.
  • Through the use of preventative maintenance processes optimise the running of plant, machinery and services to meet H&S & productivity performance.
  • Routine maintenance and asset inspections.

To be considered for this role you will have the following skills and experience:

  • Trade qualification ideally in mechanical engineering or Fitter/Turner apprenticeship. Knowledge of electrical work will be advantageous.
  • Mechanical maintenance experience of at least 3-4 years in Production/Manufacturing environment.
  • Diagnostic and fault finding expertise, where you are experienced in Root Cause Analysis.
  • Previous experience with engineering projects and process improvement.
  • Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, PLCs and welding experience with stainless steel. Experience in Working At Heights and hazardous goods would be an advantage
  • Ongoing commitment to Continuous Process Improvement.
  • A commitment to follow and implement Health & Safety protocols.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
  • Physically fit and self- motivated with a passion for ‘hands- on’ mechanical work.
  • Current Full NZ Drivers Licence

This is a night shift role working Monday to Thursday 2.30pm to 1.00am with some overtime work required.
