Introduction

Our client Arotec Diagnostics is an international organisation manufacturing and exporting high quality antigens and antibodies for the international autoimmune diagnostics market. With a focus on expanding their range of cutting-edge products, they operate from a state-of-the-art production facility in Wellington, NZ, taking pride in meeting the exact product standards of its international customers. The company’s products are developed from both native and recombinant sources under ISO9001 accredited quality management procedures.

In line with the organisation’s significant growth and as a key supplier to large and multinational customers, they have been investing in new equipment and improving processes and procedures to maintain their leadership in key global markets. Exciting times are ahead for the company and to continue their trajectory, they seek to appoint a Portfolio Manager to manage the Business Development, Marketing and Regional (predominantly Asia Pacific) Sales Management functions

Working very closely with the New Product Development and Sales teams, you will capitalise on your astute market analysis and liaison with research and clinical experts to identify new product development opportunities and devise marketing strategies to develop and promote the product range.

Requirements

 Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Analyse the market, identify new product opportunities and build commercial business cases for their development.
  • Identify the key USPs of products and accordingly plan and co-ordinate the marketing and strategy development activities for the existing and new product range with a view to increasing sales and profitability.
  • Represent the company’s scientific product range to a diverse client base across the Asia Pacific region.
  • Review and analyse sales trends, customer demand and capitalize on opportunities for expansion of AROTEC’s range and customer base.
  • Development of marketing and technical collaterals to support the sales & marketing process.
  • Development of pricing strategies in conjunction with Managing Director and Sales Team.

To be considered for this role you will require the following skills and attributes:

  • Proven marketing, sales and relationship management experience where you have managed a broad portfolio of clients and products across highly technical and regulated biological/life sciences sector.
  • Proven experience in identifying new product/business development opportunities and work collaboratively with cross functional teams to launch products in the market.
  • Tertiary qualification in biochemistry, microbiology, molecular biology or a relevant life sciences sector with continued focus on skill development.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral with the ability to build a quick rapport with clients.
  • An ability to quickly assimilate technology and develop strong commercially supported business cases for a diverse mix of technical and non-technical clients.
  • Able to work with a high degree of autonomy and to maintain high levels of service and quality.
  • Excellent scientific and technical writing skills with the ability to assimilate technical information and communicate effectively to a diverse mix of audience.
  • A pleasant and positive personality with a high level of initiative and flexibility
  • Free to travel internationally.
