Operations Manager (Ref 03/1708/PB)

Introduction

Our client is a well-established privately owned company. They contract manufacture Personal Care and Animal Health Products, where they enjoy a well-deserved reputation, nationally and internationally for their excellent quality.

Due to exponential growth and expansion in their manufacturing facilities, a great opportunity has arisen for an experienced and proven Operations Manager to lead their busy production facility. With three direct reports, the role will encompass key areas such as production efficiency, quality, customer DIFOTIS, logistics and warehousing, supply chain and planning along with the maintenance engineering functions.

Requirements

With a focus on process improvement you will drive efficiency and productivity of manufacturing without compromising on KPI’s while providing a strategic vision and leadership. Delivering improved service to customers such as shorter lead times and greater customer satisfaction is a key goal.

Your key responsibilities will include;

• Overseeing and managing the efficient running of the manufacturing operation and ensuring that production capacity is well aligned with increased business growth
• Ensure manufacturing cGMP best practices are applied with a focus on Lean Management, Continuous Process Improvement and commitment to Quality.
• Work closely with the Quality Personnel to review product consistency and determine areas for improvement.
• Maintain inventory levels and control flow of product through the facility.
• Develop and execute plant manufacturing budgets.
• Coordinate the hiring and training of all manufacturing staff.
• Manage Health & Safety compliance across the facility.
• Negotiating and managing all local third party logistics provider contracts
• Maintaining strong communications both internally and externally whilst adhering to the company’s values.

To be successful in this role, you will ideally possess the following skills and attributes;

• A tertiary qualification in a relevant field with experience in food, pharma or chemical industries.
• Demonstrated experience in manufacturing operations management where you have proven your skills in improving production and process efficiency.
• Knowledge and experience in manufacturing according to international standards such as MedSafe, TGA and Asian regulations is highly desirable.
• Proven ability to build and sustain a culture of Quality across the organisation.
• Self-motivated with a positive attitude.
• Energetic with a willingness to lead in a ‘hands-on’ role.
• Pleasing personality and excellent people management skills

There is also a provision of 12 month contract option following through to permanent position.
